Q. Toyota is well known globally as well as in Cyprus for its superior customer service.
How has it achieved this reputation?
A. The “Customer First” concept originated in the world-famous Toyota Production system. Production engineers understood that no matter how good the final product might be, it would be worthless if it didn’t meet customers’ demands and satisfy their needs. The challenge for Toyota was to put customers’ needs first by allowing buyers demands to shape the end product. Thus, the true spirit of “Customer First” for Toyota means putting the customer in the driver’s seat before the car has even been designed! Today, this same spirit can be found throughout all of Toyota’s operations – including manufacturing and customer service.
Our goal is to turn customer satisfaction into “Complete Customer Satisfaction (CCS), which means delivering beyond expectations, listening to customers, constantly seeking to do things better, and going that extra distance to ensure that Toyota owners feel positive about their vehicle at every stage of the customer experience with us.
Q. What are you most proud of in Toyota’s long history in Cyprus?
A. Our consistency in delivering the highest and most relevant quality products to the market with the required high levels of service support and customer service since the early 60s.
Q. What changes have you made recently to maintain your strong position in the marketplace?
A. In the true spirit of the principle “kaizen” (Japanese for “continuous improvement”) we have been carefully evaluating our future hand-in-hand with Toyota and have taken major steps to invest in our infrastructure, systems, sales and service network and, most importantly, our people! We have had to speed up our efforts as our competition is also very active and we have made some recent Management changes which should further strengthen our operations.
Q. What is your vision for Toyota in Cyprus?
A. To further consolidate on our No.1 position whilst being the benchmark for complete customer satisfaction and brand strength
