Liana Colakides’ passion is evident in the way she speaks, moves and achieves.

She is the founder and President of the Young Volunteers . In the span of only five years her energy and vision have grown Young Volunteers to an organization of more than 700 members, that raises about £90,000 per year for charity. In addition the organization undertakes several community projects such as creating a safe park in an underprivileged part of Nicosia, painting homes of the elderly and doing their gardening. Achievement Tips - Deal with Interruptions 12 Sep 2005
  • When interrupted ask yourself, what is more important, the task your are working on, or the interruption.
  • Keep a task list on your desk, so you can focus on what you should be doing
  • Keep the interruption short and to the point, by asking “What can I do for you?” and “By when.”
  • Keep a record of who interrupts you. There may be a pattern.
  • Be assertive. Tell people you have a deadline or are under pressure.
  • Stand up while talking.
  • Suggest another time, to talk, which is more convenient for you.
  • Go to them- that way you can leave, when you want.
